Things that are Week 35

I know this is about a week late, but I really wanted to post.

How far along: 35 weeks + 5 days (when I would've posted)

Total weight gain: At least 36 pounds per doctors visit.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I've been feeling more and more exhausted as I get bigger and bigger. I know that is to be expected. I attended barre on Monday. Friday went for a walk , and on Saturday wanted to go for a hike, but ended up walking on the trail down by Utah Lake with Chase.

Stretch marks: None yet.

Best moment(s) this week: I got a massage and an adjustment from my chiropractor. We also took Pepper to a behavior training class with other problem dogs.

Miss anything: Being able to do things without feeling exhausted. I have to break up cleaning the house because I get winded easily.

Movement: Lots and lots. He doesn't like me sitting a lot of the time, so I have to get up and move around.

Food cravings: I haven't really had an appetite, but I have been wanting fish tacos for a while. I'm not one to really like fish tacos, but I saw a recipe for fish tacos on Pinterest and had to go get me some.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Low blood pressure has made me feel sick and lightheaded. I have to make sure I have a protein bar or something sweet to help.  

Have you started to show yet: Every day.

Happy or moody most of the time: Overall happy, but there were a few days where I did a relaxation to help calm me down. Chase has noticed that my anxiety and moodiness has dwindled because I'm relaxing almost daily.

Symptoms: Mainly just exhaustion, and not feeling prepared for birth.

Belly button in or out: Belly button is flush, doesn't look like I will be an outie.

Buys for baby: Nothing this week. I did however make a list and start price matching items for things we need.

Prayer Requests: That I will be ready to birth our baby when the time is right.

Looking forward to: Getting as many naps in as I can before he comes.

Things that are Week 34 + Mother's Day

How far along: 34 weeks + 5 days

Total weight gain: At least 36 pounds per doctors visit.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: On Thursday and Friday I went and walked a mile+. It was great to get outdoors and something I've been needing. It has been harder to keep up with most workouts as I'm tired most days. I also spent several hours weeding yesterday and that took a lot of energy.

Stretch marks: Still don't have any yet, but my stomach has been itching like crazy.

Best moment(s) this week: Got to see our cute baby on an ultrasound. It's the last one until he arrives. He's head down and we are pretty sure he's got my nose. 

Miss anything: Being able to move with ease. It's been harder to get up off of couches and chairs. I'm also struggling with putting shoes on and have to have my foot on a chair in order for me to get them on.

Movement: Yes lots, he's definitely squished in there, and he doesn't like me being in certain positions and moves a bunch to try and get me to move.

Food cravings: Again, I haven't really had an appetite. My doctor said that's okay just as long as I keep up with my fluids. I've been trying to drink 80-120 ounces of water a day.

Anything make you queasy or sick: I'm not sure what caused me to feel sick the other day. I think it was not having anything to drink the past few hours.  

Have you started to show yet: Of course. I'm at that stage where people are wondering if I'll have the baby right then and there. Or if walking will through me into labor.. Which can be frustrating. 

Happy or moody most of the time: Overall I've been happy, but like last week, just feeling exhausted.

Symptoms: Exhaustion, and I've been taking naps any chance I can get.

Belly button in or out: My belly button is now just flush. 

Buys for baby: We bought a crib mattress, and a baby monitor. We still have quite a few things to buy before he comes. But that won't be until next month.

Prayer Requests: That our little "Baby Ray" (Thanks to Chase's dad) will stay head down, and that I will have strength to carry him for a few more weeks.

Looking forward to: I have another massage this week, and we're finishing up our garden. I'm excited that we're growing zucchini, strawberries, green beans, and sugar snap peas.  I am excited to finish getting ready for him to come, and finishing up the decor of the baby's room. I wouldn't call it nesting, but I am anxious to finish because we're at that point that he could come at any time.

**Today is Mother's Day. Though I've been told I am a mother and been wished a Happy Mother's Day, I still do not feel like I'm a mother. Instead of dwelling on something I feel I'm not, I'm going to love on my own mother today, and every day after. Because we can all celebrate our mom's every day of the year, not just the hallmark holiday of Mother's Day. **

Things that are 33 Weeks

How far along: 33 weeks + 6 days

Total weight gain: At least 34 pounds possibly more

How I’ve felt in my workouts: This week I was recovering from our trip to California, and so I didn't feel up to working out at all. I did get in a few walks with the dogs, but that was about it. My energy level has definitely decreased since being in the 3rd trimester.

Stretch marks: Still don't have any yet.

Best moment(s) this week: I volunteered for the Provo City Half Marathon which was fun. We also had our baby shower which was amazing! I didn't ever think it would happen, so it was fun.

Miss anything: Not anything this week.

Movement: Lots of movement, and bigger movements that can be uncomfortable at times.

Food cravings: I've actually not had a very good appetite this week. I haven't really been hungry and I haven't been feeling 100% when I do eat.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Not eating will make me nauseous. 

Have you started to show yet: I get asked more and more by strangers when am I due. 

Happy or moody most of the time: I've been pretty happy, just really exhausted this week.

Symptoms: I got heartburn this week. I think it's due to all the sugar I've consumed. I noticed when I ate more of it a while later I would get heartburn. But it also wasn't me, Chase also got it too, so I'm not sure if it was just the sugar or what we had been eating.

Belly button in or out: Still not an outie, and I don't think it will stick out. 

Buys for baby: I found a BOB stroller on Facebook marketplace that had everything I need/want, and was half the price. It's in great condition. I'm really happy that I was able to find one that was lower in price.

Prayer Requests: That I may have more faith than fear when preparing for childbirth. That our little boy continues to stay active and healthy inside for a few more weeks. 

Looking forward to: We have another doctors appointment this week, and it includes an ultrasound. I'm excited to see our baby since it's been about 14 weeks since our last ultrasound. We are also buying a few more items for the baby's room this week which I'll post about next week.

Things that are a Pallet Sign

I started this project like 2 years ago. I had gotten a pallet from work, and then proceeded to take it apart (which is the hardest part of the project). Then it laid in our garage for the past year or more. I didn't know what I needed to do, and had other projects/blog posts that I wanted to work on. Once I quit my job, I had a lot more time and felt I could tackle it.

I based my project off of this sign from Hobby Lobby:

I started by putting the slats together, I measured the total length and width then went to the hardware store to figure out what material I could use to secure the slats in place. I also figured out what size screws I would need to hold it in. The 6 slats measured 21" in length.

I found a long piece of wood that was 3/4" thick (I think) and the slats themselves were about 1/2" thick. The hardware store was able to cut the wood into 4 pieces 20" long with a little remaining at the end. I knew I needed a screw that would be about 1" long to screw in without showing through the front of the wood.

I then decided what pieces I wanted to show on the front side and proceeded to screw in the screws on the back with a little help from Chase's drill. It turned out to be easier than what I was expecting.

What the front looks like:

I sanded the front down to make it as smooth as possible, and wiped it down in preparation to paint.

I figured out what letter design I wanted to use. Since I don't have a silhouette machine anymore I had to figure out how to get my letters on without using vinyl and making the project as cheap as possible.

I cut out the letters and traced them with a pencil onto the already painted (grey with a little water in the paint) sign. Since I'm not a patient person, I had to calmly remind myself that I wanted this project to look good and I needed to take my time.

Once the letters were traced, I started to slowly fill in the letters with white paint.

Once it was complete Chase added some hooks on the back to mount it on the wall.

I really love how it turned out.

Things that are Week 32

How far along: 32 weeks + 6 days and it's a day late...

Total weight gain: I know I have gained at least 34 pounds per doctors office.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I've been pretty tired this week! I just went and worked out on Monday, and I showed up super late to barre. I was running around trying to get stuff ready for our Expo on Saturday.

Stretch marks: None yet, but I am getting larger.

Best moment(s) this week: I got to meet up with another Blogger/Instagrammer and Instagrammer during and after the expo. I always love meeting new people and it was great that we were able to talk for a long time. 

Miss anything: I don't miss anything, but my back and ribs have been pretty sore on and off the past few weeks.

Movement: Yep! He definitely likes to get up and under my ribs and makes sitting quite uncomfortable. Thankfully I'm okay with standing which takes a lot of those pains away.

Food cravings: I've been enjoying a lot of fruity and sweet things. I'm still trying to get my hands on any fruit I can.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Not drinking enough water, and not eating when I'm hungry.

Have you started to show yet: Yes! Even more so that people are now asking when I'm due.

Happy or moody most of the time: Fairly happy with my occasional mood swing.

Symptoms: My feet are swollen pretty bad by the end of the day. I know it may get worse, and it does get worse when I travel, but if that's the only thing (no heartburn) then I'll be happy. I have also gotten a bad bad case of dry skin, especially on my arms and legs.

Belly button in or out: Still not out, but flush with my belly now. 

Buys for baby: No more buys from us, but we have gotten several gifts from friends/family which have been so nice. I will definitely post pictures later.

Prayer Requests: That baby stays healthy and that he stays nice and cozy for a few more weeks.

Looking forward to: I have another massage this week (yay!), and am volunteering for a race this weekend! I'm looking forward to being at the finish line! :)
