Things that are Week 27

How far along: 27 weeks + 5 days. Tuesday is when I go up a week.

Total weight gain: I still haven't weighed myself. I go to the doctor this week, so I will be sure to look.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I'm adding this one from my friend Chelsy's blog. I was pretty exhausted this week. I went to barre once, and walked the dogs at least 3 times. I took Pepper for a brief walk/run session Saturday morning before the rain hit.

Stretch marks: None yet, but I know I'll get them. Ya know what? I'm okay with that, because it's a sign that my body is going through/went through something hard.

Best moment(s) this week: Chase and I bought a fetal doppler because there were a few times where I couldn't feel the baby. It got me a little worried, so we went ahead and bought one. The best $32 bucks spent so far. We were able to let my parents, and Chase's parents hear the heartbeat. I know I'm getting bigger and showing that I'm pregnant, but it made it more real for them.

Miss anything: I don't miss anything this week. I just forget that I'm not as skinny as I was and forget to open things as big as I should in order to fit through them.

Movement: Yes, almost every day. I can now tell if he's changing positions vs kicking/punching.

Food cravings: I have been enjoying a lot of fruit. Cantaloupe and grapes have been fruits that I have enjoyed. Since I'm trying to eat more low carb (as in not very much pasta, bread, tortillas, etc), fruit and salad have been nice to lighten our meals up. I know fruit have carbs in them, but I'm trying to stay away from processed foods because they have a lot more crap in them.

Anything make you queasy or sick: I had a moment this week that scared me a little. I got super lightheaded while I was at my massage. I was laying on the pregnancy cushion and started to feel lightheaded. My massage therapist grabbed me a bottle of cold water and had me lay on my side. She ended up finishing the massage while I was on my side. Not ideal to work on hips, but she was able to work around it. It wasn't blood sugar related, we think it had something to do with how he was positioned. I also had another moment in the car and just felt super sick and nauseous - almost the same feeling. I tried to mentally tell the baby to move, and that actually seemed to help and I was able to relax and not feel sick.

Have you started to show yet: Yes!!!

Happy or moody most of the time: I haven't been moody, but more emotional. I've cried so much this week.

Symptoms: None other than the belly.

Belly button in or out: Still tucked in... We've got 12 more weeks, it could happen.

Buys for baby: I'm adding this one from Chelsy's blog. Didn't buy anything this week. We'll most likely wait until next month to make more purchases. We're trying hard to budget everything we buy, and that means sticking to budget. We still have to save up for the insurance deductible, so we're trying to spread everything out.

Prayer Requests: I'm also adding this one from her blog. I have my glucose test this week. I'm worried that I'm not going to pass, or that I'm going to throw up the drink. So prayers that things will go well for this appointment.

Looking forward to: Getting outside and staying active. We're also making a Plinko board for our upcoming fertility conference at the end of April. So hopefully we can get that finished this week.

Things that are Our Gender Reveal Party

So a few days before Chase and I had our gender party I was at work and my boss wanted to see who all would guess correctly. So I took a pink and blue marker, and whatever gender you thought was the color you chose. Pretty straight forward. As you can see there was a huge mix of who thought what. A lot of the ladies at work would as me to turn so they could see my love handles, as that is an indication of if you are having a girl. One older guy asked me to look at him and he guessed off of how I looked (which he turned out to be correct).

Our invite to our Gender Party:
It's pretty funny huh!?

The day we found out the gender

Boy or Girl?

As you can tell we had a lot of fun with pictures after everyone left:

We had a pretty big crowd - largest that we've ever had in our house. We Skyped a friend since she got the invite too late. We also recorded the gender reveal so we could share with my dad and brother who weren't able to make it.

Of course I didn't get a picture of the food... But we did have yummy pink and blue punch, we dipped rice crispy treats in white chocolate and sprinkled pink and blue sprinkles on them, and lil' smokies (my favorite). We also had cupcakes with a cute little blue surprise in the middle for everyone at the end of the night. We also gave away prizes for anyone who put their name in the correct jar.

Overall it was a fun night and we were so thankful for everyone who came to celebrate us!

Things that are 26 weeks

How far along: 26 weeks + 5 days

Total weight gain: I have no idea. I'm sure its more. I get a day almost every week where I just feel heavier and larger. Almost like I'm stretching - it's a weird feeling.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I'm adding this one from my friend Chelsy's blog. I did a lot more walking/running this week, but unfortunately didn't have time to get to my favorite barre class. I've been trying to take our dogs out on walks every day (including the weekends) and that has helped them be a little better behaved at home.

Stretch marks: I haven't noticed any yet, but I know I'll get them.

Best moment(s) this week: So last year Chase and I started a foundation to help couples struggling with infertility pay for fertility treatments. This past Wednesday we were able to give away our first grant! It's one of the best feelings to be able to help others struggling with getting pregnant, since it's taken us 7+ years to be able to get our miracle.

Miss anything: It's been a rough week with not getting as much sleep as I've needed. I know it will only get worse as time goes by.

Movement: Every day I have felt something. He's even more active when Chase and I try and listen to his heart beating.

Food cravings: I'm taking out the cravings part, because I haven't really been craving much. I have gone to either Cafe Rio or Costa Vida the past week. Their sweet pork salad is my favorite! I also bought some grapes last week and finished them off this week. They were so yummy!

Anything make you queasy or sick: Being too hot and not having enough water causes me to not feel so good.

Have you started to show yet: Of course! Funny story - I was in line to buy Chase his soda (he wasn't with me) the lady checking me out asked if it was a craving. I said no, it's for my husband. It made me giggle. Obviously she could tell that I was pregnant.

Happy or moody most of the time: It's hit or miss with the moodiness. Which is how I was before I got pregnant.

Symptoms: No symptoms, no braxton hicks, aside from feeling large.

Belly button in or out: Still tucked in. Though who knows how long that will last.

Buys for baby: I'm adding this one from Chelsy's blog. I bought our first cute little outfit for our little boy, and I couldn't be happier for it!

Prayer Requests: I'm also adding this one from her blog. As we get further and further along I've noticed my body is trying hard to move and adjust to this growing little boy. My request this week is that I will have the strength and knowledge to help my body adjust to these changes and still be comfortable.

Looking forward to: Getting a massage this week! YES! I kinked my back out and it will be nice to get an adjustment too. I also got invited to sub for Bunco, and I'm excited to go play. It's been several years since I've played. I hope my wrists are ready! :)

Things that are Week 25

How far along: 25 weeks + 5 days

Total weight gain: Not entirely sure. I've probably gained a few more, but I didn't check. I'm trying to not focus on my weight gain.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I'm adding this one from my friend Chelsy's blog. This week wasn't too bad. I was able to attend barre on Monday and then Friday morning I took the dogs out for a walk. It's hard to do both dogs at the same time, so I decided to do one than the other. When I took Pepper out I went on our running route that we went on last year. It didn't hurt my stomach at all to run/walk with her. I'm sure I will probably just end up walking with her, but not yet.

Stretch marks: Nothing new aside from last week.

Best moment(s) this week: We got a few things for the nursery. I took Chase to a store called Buy Buy Baby which is up in Salt Lake. It was fun walking around, but we definitely got overwhelmed with everything there. I also went to a blogger/influencer night at The Vanilla Bean Cafe. It was yummy food, and it was cool to meet new people.

Miss anything: Not anything this week.

Movement: Every day I have felt something. He's even more active when Chase and I try and listen to his heart beating.

Food cravings: I'm taking out the cravings part, because I haven't really been craving much. I realized that I can't eat as much as I used to. I get so full so quick. I still try to eat filling foods, so I'm not having to eat quite as often. I have had to increase my water intake. I noticed that since I've quit my job, I'm not drinking as much water. My feet have begun to swell and I'm wearing compression socks at least 2-3 times a week.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Not sick at all!

Have you started to show yet: YES! and more and more people are asking me when I'm due.

Happy or moody most of the time: Chase was gone for a few days this week, and I had a little scare with cramping and back pain. Thankfully I got a blessing and that calmed my nerves. I've increased my calcium intake to hopefully help with my aches and pains. But that caused me to be a little more moody than I would like to have been.

Symptoms: No symptoms, though about once a week I will feel super big, and can tell that my belly is stretching. It's the weirdest thing.

Belly button in or out: Belly button is still tucked in. Though it's not as tucked in as it was a few weeks ago.

Buys for baby: I'm adding this one from Chelsy's blog. We budgeted this month for a crib and dresser, and put everything together when Chase got home Friday. I'll show pictures as soon as we get the rocker. Next month we'll be getting our rocker, and then the following month a car seat. Our friends are throwing us a baby shower sometime in May, and so we'll know more then what we need/don't need.

Prayer Requests: I'm also adding this one from her blog. I'm getting a lot more fear and anxiety as we get closer to meet baby boy. Mainly with not knowing if something has gone wrong or not. I know I need to let my fears and anxieties go, but we've gotten this far, and I don't want anything to happen.

Looking forward to: Comic Con is this upcoming week. Chase is volunteering for it, and I'm looking forward to walking around and enjoying it. I'm also looking forward to more structure and trying to put in place a few routines for me.

Things that are 24 weeks + 6 days

How far along: 24 weeks + 6 days

Total weight gain: 23 pounds. I'm sure I've gained a few more, but I didn't check. I'm trying to not focus on my weight gain.

How I’ve felt in my workouts: I'm adding this one from my friend Chelsy's blog. She is also an athlete and I thought it would be fun to incorporate my workouts into my weekly posts. I went to barre last Monday and it was pretty exhausting. I have noticed that I can't push myself as much as I used to. I have also needed to remind myself that my workouts have changed, and I need to focus on the needs of the baby rather than my needs of staying fit. I know that being fit and active during pregnancy helps labor and delivery go so much smoother, so that's what I'm trying to focus on.

Stretch marks: I have noticed some stretching near my belly button, but that's about it.

Best moment this week: Chase and I went to see the Lego Batman movie. I went in for a massage and adjustment. Chase and I had sushi with friends for her birthday and I stuffed my face! It was SO good! I know what you are thinking... "you aren't supposed to eat sushi," well that's only if it's raw fish, and everything we picked was cooked. We even had one sushi roll that was hot. It was so so good! I definitely got my fix for the next few months.

Miss anything: Being able to bend over. I now have to squat to pick things up - like sumo squat.

Movement: I have felt baby boy every day. Mostly at night and early in the morning. I asked my doctor about the spasms, and he said that it's the baby and your body's way of interpreting the movement.

Food cravings: I'm taking out the cravings part, because I haven't really been craving much. I have enjoyed eating my "naked breakfast burritos" (no tortilla, eggs, sausage and a little hash browns topped with sour cream, avocado, and salsa). I have been trying to get my body used to eating eggs again - since I started becoming intolerant to the egg yolk in 2015. I started drinking probiotics which has essentially taken away the intolerance.

Anything make you queasy or sick: Not sick at all!

Have you started to show yet: YES! and more and more people are asking me if I am pregnant now.

Happy or moody most of the time: I've been pretty happy this week. Since I'm not working anymore, I have noticed being home all day that if I don't have a list of things to do for the day I get pretty down.

Symptoms: Nothing aside from my aching hips. Which I'm working at stretching and using a lacrosse ball to help massage the area that aches.

Belly button in or out: Belly button is still tucked in. I'm pretty sure it's going to stay in. Who knows I still have quite a ways to go still.

Buys for baby: I'm adding this one from Chelsy's blog. I already have a diaper bag, and a nursing cover that I bought a few years ago. But I finally broke down and bought a cute little outfit and I will post a picture as soon as I get it. It has given me great anxiety to buy things for baby boy. Just like pregnancy tests, I worry that my buying something will jinx this pregnancy.

Prayer Requests: I'm also adding this one from her blog. I don't think it's ever a bad idea to ask for prayers. I know there are lots of people who would love to help, and praying is one way to do just that. So my prayer request this week is for baby boy to continue to grow healthy.

Looking forward to: I am going to a local blogger meet-up this week that I'm excited for. We are also buying a crib and dresser this week. We've waited a long time for this, and now it's getting more and more real. I can't believe we're just a shy 15 weeks away.
