Things that are the beach - Pawley's edition Day 4 - 5

So there are a few days here clumped together. I honestly can't remember what day we did what. :S

I know we got settled and went here for lunch on Saturday. YUM! I had soft shelled crab. First time for me! It was definitely weird.

Sunday we floated down the creek (creek float). It was a lot of fun. Chase missed doing this the last time we came to Pawley's so he HAD to experience it. :) The creek float photos aren't the best because I was using our water proof camera that we had bought for our river rafting trip (Jackson Hole).

This is my first attempt at creating a collage. Not the best but its my first try. Some photos of going down the creek. Usually Cousin Rob ends up taking photos down the float, but he ended up not going with us. I just need to email him these. :)

Just floating.

After we got changed we went to the Hammock Shops that is on the north side of Pawley's.
Photobucket
There was a shop/store that wasn't using the outdoor patio and these HUGE spiders created their webs all through it. It was crazy!

I spy with my little eye...

Massive right?!

Later that day we had our 2nd year (the last time we did this was 4 years ago when we came out)
DeArmon Olympics:

Distance runners coming in!
No I was not one of the runners. I would have been if I hadn't hurt my foot the day before running.

Ooo's and ahh's from the crowd

The next event was the plank:

Everyone planking it up! The winner 4 years ago was good ol' Uncle Jim!
Lillie & Sarah were both determined to beat him this year

Who won you ask?... Jim.

Lillie & Sarah you've got another 4 years to beat him! :)

Third event was the reverse plank:

You can see me on the end. :) I believe Alexis won this event.

The fourth event was the long jump:

John showing everyone how to do it. I missed out on several of these events because I had hurt my foot running the previous day.

David got some serious height!
But he's also seriously tall... Going to be taller than Chase here in a month or two.

Sixth event: Act like a sea turtle (not sure exactly what they called this)
Photobucket
Everybody has a partner and spins them around 5-8 times and then they have to walk/run like a sea turtle and find the ocean. :)  Chase and Alex (aka Jamie) were partners.

Final Event: Running ocean to shore (I know there was a better name for this)
Photobucket
After running in from the ocean. Chase came in DEAD last. haha! We all know who will get eaten by a shark huh, honey? :) Love you!

That night we had our annual talent show at the Sea Hearth, there was a variety of performers. One of which was Cousin Belle who shared a story called The Spite Fence aka Grandmother Belle goes to Jail.

It is quite entertaining, especially to hear it from Cousin Belle's perspective.

There was some music performed by Alex (formally known as Jamie), John and Alexis (sang a song about a bear), a reading by Don, a story by Cousin Rob, and interpretive dance by Lillie called "black tongue."

Ann shared her talent of beading with us:

Had to squeeze a lot in the first two days because Lille and Sarah had to fly back to NYC.
