Make a Change

I try not to put a lot of political things on my blog, and so far i've done pretty good at not doing it. But I feel that this letter this woman wrote to "Common Sense Americans" has everything that I have been wanting to say, but didn't have the right words to say it. So far 120,000 people have signed this petition. Here is a shorter version of her letter, but still has the main points. After reading decide whether you are for or againist, If you are FOR then PLEASE sign this petition! We the people of America CAN make a change to our political leaders!

Thanks!

"Principles
I. Illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

II. TARP. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

III. Czars. I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

IV. Cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

V. Universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

VI. Growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

VII. ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

VIII. Redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? What do you have against shareholders making a profit?

IX. Charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

X. Corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band%u2011Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

XI. Transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try %u2011%u2011 please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

XII. Unprecedented spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people."

Here's the site you can go to to petition just like Chase and I did.

Hurley and the Moth

Today I came home from church early because I was making rolls for tonight's dinner, and was worried that it was going to overflow because I left it to rise. After doing that I put Hurley outside, for a little play time, and the next thing I know I hear him barking. It's a non stop bark, and it sounds like he's scared. Usually his barks are more whiny yappy high pitched barks because he wants out of the yard. NO today was woof woof bark. It was weird. Anyways I walk outside to check out what he's barking at. I figured it had to be something he didn't like. Well I turn to see what he's barking at and it was this...

I tried looking it up to see what kind of moth it is. But I can't seem to find anything on it. It freaked me out when I saw it, I know I'm bigger than it, but I was worried that it was going to come into the house because it's right by the door. Anyways I tried calling Hurley in a few times, so he'll stop but he can't get enough barks to get it to leave. haha I finally persuaded him with food.

This is him barking at it, and then sniffing it.

Neuter

Hurley got neutered on Friday, and he was really really tired. It was so great to have him just be tired and not all crazy happy play dog. :) Now he's back to the same old self crazy puppy! Here are some pictures of him with his lampshade, cone or "conehead" as we call him! :) We still love him! When we first put the cone on him Friday, he thought it was a game, and tried to get it off. He started running into things too because he couldn't see. It was so funny!

This was Hurley today. He doesn't mind as much. I try and keep it on him little as possible when I am home. But the doc said that when we're not able to watch him then it needs to go on! Poor puppy!

Nebo Loop Ride

Saturday Chase and I went on a motorcycle ride with about 10 other bikers, almost all were in our ward. You wouldn't think that very many bikers would be in one ward. We all met 8am Saturday morning at Mimi's Cafe. Then we drove down to Payson to jump on the Nebo Loop. Chase and I both thought that since it was a nice day outside that it wouldn't be so cold. Well we were wrong. On our way up the windy mountain it got colder and colder, it seriously felt like it was -20 degrees! It was miserable! We stopped up at the top to rest our bottoms, and I was about ready to tell Chase that I was done, that I just wanted to go home because it was so cold!
Thankfully one of the other bikers Chris and her husband, Mike, had an extra wind breaker coat and pants, that they let me borrow so I wouldn't freeze. She said on her first ride she didn't bring extra stuff and she froze too. Then we headed down the loop and went to a town called Fairview where there were about a 100 or so bikers who were all Sheriffs from all over. That was a sight to see! It was pretty cool, I had never seen so many bikers before. Then after Chase and I were supposed to go home to drive up to the airshow. So we headed through Fairview canyon. We accidentally missed the turn and ended up eating lunch with the gang, and then turned around and headed back through to a town called scofield there is a big resevoir (lake?) there which was so pretty. After that we got onto route 6 through Spanish Fork Canyon, it was SO windy that Chase's leather jacked would puff up, and it would start blowing him away. He said he would hold tight to the handle bars. After the canyon we got gas and hopped on the freeway to Lindon! Lets just say that we definitely were not ready for that ride. Especially our bottoms! But we enjoyed ourselves and that's what counts! We got home around 4pm - too long for us. Hopefully we'll get asked to go on another ride, and next time we'll be more prepared! Here are some pictures on the ride. A few people took pictures of the group, but i'll post what I have till I get the other pictures.

This was only 1/2 of what our group was. The blue BMW is LaRon and JaNae and they were in charge of it all.

Us freezing our bottoms off! :)

As you can see by my shiveryness, I was cold!

Us just outside of Scofield, right before we hit route 6.

I was scared trying to take these pictures, but we were going slow enough that I wasn't TOO afraid to take the picture. I thought this turned out pretty cool!

Shaved!

Hurley went in this morning for a trimming! Well he no longer looks like a pug anymore!! He's a chihuahua!!! His little face doesn't look like a cute little pug. Oh well we love it! Tomorrow is a big day for him too! He is getting Neutered! Hopefully that will help with him not marking everything where ever we walk! He peed on Zoe today! :( He marked her! She was really embarrassed! She held her tail down for quite some time! I think Hurley will do really well with the surgery tomorrow! He will be our little cone head! :)
