UVU Dancesport

Earlier this week I signed up with a guy, Ray, in my American Social Dance class to compete in the American Bronze Cha Cha at UVU Dancesport this weekend. Since I am unable to dance with Chase since he is Gold, I had to find someone else.

In ballroom they have different levels; bronze, silver, gold. Since Chase has danced for so many years he is at the gold level. I am just starting so I'm at the bronze level. Each level you learn new steps along with some new dances. At the competions you need to dance the steps that you learn for that level, if you are dancing within a syllabus, whereas open you can dance whatever with the steps of the dance. If that makes sense. Last night I think 1 or 2 couples got disqualified because they weren't dancing within the syllabus.

Anyways, Ray and I danced the Cha Cha and made it to the finals! They went from quarter finals to finals, instead of quarter finals, semi-finals then to finals. Well we got 5th place! We are way excited! Ray had never danced before this class, and I had only taken a Bronze Latin before this (and some help from Chase). So to make it to the finals the first time. I think it helped that I knew some of the judges. :) YAY for us! My next goal is to become a gold and to dance with Chase! At least once before I end my career as a ballroom dancer! ;)

I have pictures but I have been too excited to wait so I will post those later! video

Proposal

Valentines Day, Chase and I went to go tour the new Draper Temple. It is VERY beautiful! I absolutely love it! Anyways so we start walking into the Celestial Room and in the corner of the Celestial Room we see this couple together and he proposes to his girlfriend! They start hugging and kissing. Chase and I start leaving the room and a couple behind us who saw them too said that wasn't very appropriate if you want to propose do it outside the temple. I was shocked that not even a volunteer saw them. I know for sure they tell you to not have your cell phone's turned on and if you want to speak to whisper.

What do you thinkg of someone proposing in the celestial room?
The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

2- What I create will be just for you.

3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be a joke book, autographed picture of myself, handmade bag, or a little invention of my own! I may create you a blog header or paint something for you with my food. (That would be scary). I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows?

5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. Believe me... it may blow your mind!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Sounds like fun, right? So, let's play!

Hurley

We have great news!

Chase and I bought a puppy yesterday! He is the cutest little thing! We named him Hurley after Hurley on lost! :) He is a Chorkie - Chihauhau and a Yorkie mix. We absolutely love him! The people we bought him from had some neighbor kids over for the past 6 weeks and one of the little neighbor boys started crying when we took him away. :( Chase and I felt so bad!

All I have to say is he is a handful!

He kept us both up all last night. He hated being alone so we put him in bed with us, which finally he went to sleep for a few hours. Mostly he sleeps for about an hour then is up for a while if you play with him and then gets tired and falls back to sleep. He is also doing great at learning to be potty trained. He actually went on the potty pad while we were at church this morning! :D

Livestrong and ME!

So I downloaded this application on my iPod a couple of months ago called LIVESTRONG. It's where you can track your food and exercise every day. Then it uploads it to the website so you can see how you're doing. I haven't really looked at the website much until this morning. I found part of the site where you can add to some dares that the community of Livestrong is also doing. I wanted to write down the dares that I wanted to work on this year.
1. Drink more water- for better skin, and you need to be drinking at least 8-12 glasses a day.
2. Eliminate Debt- Chase and I are already on our way of eliminating our debt. We are following Dave Ramsey's baby steps and the first one was get a 1000$ emergency fund, which we have, and then pay off all debts except your mortgage. We will have our credit card and motorcycle loan paid off by the end of the year! Then it's on to school loans!
3. Do 100 Push-ups by 2010 - I haven't even started, but I think I have time every morning to get those done! Maybe I'll get Chase to do them with me!
4. Get Health Insurance - Chase and I have been without health insurance since we got married. Thankfully we haven't had to go to the doctor. I have been lucky enough to go to the Student Health Center at UVU, unfortunatly Chase can't go because he's not enrolled in classes. But We're going to work on that and get some before we start having children.
5. Make a Will - I remembered reading Kim's 200 things to do before the end of the year, and she mentioned having a will. I am going to get Chase and I one ready just in case if anything happens to either of us.

Those are my goals for this year! WOO WOO! Easy and simple I think! YES! You should try it too!

Is it Spring yet!?

I really wish it was spring! I'm so sick of this icky weather, AND the fact that every morning I start by scraping off my windows on the car, hop in and start to drive, the next thing I know my windows have ice on them again! Yesterday it was so bad and I thought that I was going to run into oncoming traffic, I pulled over and had to scrape my windows! Today I was sneeky and hopped in my car, and started the windshild wipers, it helped, but they were still reicing. grrr

Spring Please come!

Besides all that I have been studying my brains out for Anatomy. So far it has sort of paid off... Now I need to work on my microbiology. Maybe by May I will be able to spend time with Chase.

Oh yeah one more thing. This weekend Chase and I went to the Provo High School Ballroom Competition. We watched all the high school's medleys and during Provo High's Latin medley one of the girls shoe strap broke off and her shoe went flying that was during the first minute or so, then towards the end of their medley her other shoe strap broke off. Let me just say she did not have a good night. I feel bad. Apparently those were brand new shoes too. So sad.
